Who is ILK? +
I’m Erin Cave, a photographer from Tauranga. My sister Terri is also a photographer and second shoots for ILK weddings and events.
What kind of photography do you do + what can I book you for? +
I currently shoot commercial and product photography, weddings, newborns, families and events.
How would you describe your style? +
My style is pretty relaxed, draws heavily on film aesthetics and the natural environment, but I can shoot to the majority of creative styles.
Where can I find your pricing? +
On each shoot category page, clicking the '+' symbol beside each package will give you more information and pricing.
Do you retouch photos? +
Yes, as a general rule of thumb I like to keep photos looking as natural as possible, but if you have say, a dreaded wedding day pimple - then sure!
What should I wear to an ILK shoot? +
Anything that makes you feel good! Neutral colours (black, white, or earthy colours) are timeless.
What time of day has the most photo friendly light? +
It generally depends on the weather, as light changes all the time, but the safetest times to get super flattering light are early in the morning (anytime between 6am - 10.30am) and early evening (between 4pm and 9pm in the summer). I try to avoid shooting around the middle of the day if your location is outdoor, but in a pinch - I can manage most lighting situations.
What happens if my kid loses it during a family or newborn shoot? +
Sometimes this happens! and in this case, it's up to you. I usually book a 2 hour slot for family and newborn shoots, so there's plenty of time to take a break and regroup, but if that seems far too hard at the time, then we can always schedule a second attempt. The bottom line is that we keep stress to a minimum and that you get the photos you were after!
Do you shoot video? +
Not currently, but I can recommend some epic videographers that I love to work with.
How many photographers cover an ILK wedding? +
We document the day from the perspective of each spouse, but it's up to you as to whether this is done by one or two photographers.
Can I book with you if I don't live in the Bay? +
Yes! Some travel costs may apply, but I’m more than happy to tailor something that works.
Do you shoot small weddings? +
Yes! Personally, I prefer smaller weddings but am more than happy to shoot any size.
Do you shoot engagements? +
Yes!
Do we meet before booking? Or what is the process if I want to book you? +
I prefer to meet all of ILK’s couples prior to their wedding, this helps to take away any awkwardness that can come from first meetings and ensure that we’re all on the same page about what you’re after. Feel free to fill out the contact form or message me on social to arrange a meeting. For shoots other than weddings, it's up to you whether we meet prior - family shoots don't usually require this, but product shoots can really benefit from a quick sit down to hash out ideas (this can also be done via video or phone call if time frames are tight).
What format will I receive my wedding photos in? Prints? Albums? +
It depends on the package you choose, but all of ILK’s weddings are delivered as a handful of professional quality prints and either a USB with your gallery on it or a digital gallery (the choice is yours). Wedding photo books are also available to purchase after your wedding and are included in Package 2 & 3.
When will I receive my wedding photos? +
I will have your photos back to you within 6 weeks of your wedding day.
Will I lose my deposit if pandemic related rules change between now and my shoot? +
No, if it's a government mandated ruling, then your deposit can be transferred to a new date.
